TILE TO METAL CONVERSIONS
Removing your existing tile roof and replacing that roof with Colorbond metal sheeting is a sure-fire way to add value to your home and eliminate the leaks and creaks that come with an old tile roof. Viking Gutters & Roofing are the roofing contractors that can help you through the process from start to finish.
A typical tile to metal conversion involves:
Stripping back the existing roof tiles (disposed in a skip on-site)
Installing new Zincalume 40mm battens to affix the sheeting
Laying a 50mm blanket backed foil for thermal resistance and noise reduction
Laying new Colorbond roof sheeting – flashed off to completion
RESTORATIONS AND REPLACEMENTS – FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Undertaking a roof replacement or restoration can feel like a daunting process. But with Viking Gutters & Roofing, you’ll be guided start to finish by an experienced team of roofing contractors. Take a look below for answers to some of our most frequently asked questions.
WILL MY ROOF BE WATERTIGHT WHILE THE WORK IS IN PROGRESS?
Yes, our process is to only remove a part of your roof that we know we can replace in that day. Then, before the end of each day we will double check all joins and areas prone to leaking.
CAN WE STAY IN OUR HOUSE WHILE OUR JOB IS IN PROGRESS?
Yes, generally the only thing that you will have to be worried about is the amount of noise. It can get quite loud so if excessive noise will be a problem for you during the day you may need to plan around that.
HOW MANY YEARS IS THE WARRANTY ON OUR NEW ROOF?
Typically it depends on what materials you have selected. Zincalume and Colorbond have a 20 -30 year product warranty. A few factors come into play with determining how long your warranty will be. Information on this can be found at www.bluescopesteel.com.au/warranties
